We're Here to Stay Safe and Study Smart

Living and learning looks different at South Dakota State University this fall. But one thing hasn't changed ... Brookings will always be where big goals meet bigger opportunity. Jackrabbit Nation is standing together to step up and protect our campus and community with the #JacksForAllPledge.

Take Health Personally
Prioritize protecting yourself.
  • Monitor for symptoms of COVID-19 and report to a medical professional if you experience a fever of 100.4F (38C) or higher, dry cough, difficulty breathing, chills, repeated shaking with chills, muscle pain, headache, sore throat or loss of taste or smell.
  • Wash hands often with soap and water.
  • User hand sanitizer.
  • Get vaccinated for the flu in the fall.
Help Reduce Risk
Stay vigilant, on campus and off
  • Maintain appropriate social distancing, regardless of group size, particularly in classroom settings and throughout the community.
  • Wear an appropriate cloth face covering when around others.
  • Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue when you sneeze or use the inside of your elbow.
  • Stay home if you feel ill or after exposure to someone who is ill or has tested positive for COVID-19.
  • Be positive, attentive, and helpful to anyone around who may be in need of support.
Protect Jackrabbit Nation
Here's what all students can do ...
  • Keep clothing, belongings, personal spaces, and shared common spaces clean.
  • Participate in testing, tracing, self-reporting, and self-isolating as needed.
  • Carefully observe instructional signs and follow directions.
  • Follow guidelines when in the community to show care for others.
  • Be positive, attentive, and helpful to anyone around who may be in need of support.
